Information You Submit
Search Entries
When a name, location, or other search term is entered into a partner search feature, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Montgomery County Inmate Population does not keep its own log of those search terms.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to review and reply. It is not shared outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement makes disclosure necessary.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Like most websites, each page visit may create routine technical records. Those records can include:
- Internet protocol address.
- Browser name, settings, and version.
- Device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
- Referring page or site, when one is available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may help measure how visitors use the site and support advertising or analytics. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some features may respond differently when cookies are disabled.
How the Data Is Used
- To keep pages available, usable, and reasonably fast.
- To route search requests to the correct partner service.
- To understand which Montgomery County record pages visitors use most.
- To detect errors, abuse, outages, and other technical issues.
- To support advertising that may be based on general visitor interests.
Outside Websites
The site links to sheriff, jail, court, MDOC, BOP, ICE, VINELink, public-record, advertising, and search-provider websites. After a visitor leaves this site, the destination site's own privacy policy and terms control its collection and use of data.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites or show interest-based ads. Those tracking practices are handled by the partner, not by Montgomery County Inmate Population.
Who May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold as a customer list. It may be disclosed to the following parties when needed for site operation, compliance, or legal process:
- Search partners that process submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that measure usage and performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law-enforcement, court, or government bodies when required by a valid subpoena, order, warrant, or similar legal demand.
Security
Reasonable security practices are used to protect data handled by the site. No website, network, or internet-connected service can be guaranteed to be fully secure or free from unauthorized access.
